Texture Parameters

Surface texture parameters give us hundreds of ways to describe texture and how it might impact surface function. Looking at the equations that define these parameter, however, might not tell us everything we need to know about how to interpret the values, or whether those values mean a surface will perform well or poorly.

We created this free series of videos to help explain the meaning of dozens of common (and less common!) parameters. Instead of equations, these videos describe the parameters in a simple and graphical way.

Search for parameters by symbol (“Ra” for example) or description (“average roughness”), then view the results as a grid or as a list. You can also narrow down your search by choosing the general Category of parameter (height, slope/spacing, bearing ratio, etc.).

Got questions about any of these parameters or how to use them? Contact us…we love to talk about this stuff!
