Automotive interiors include a mix of natural textures such as leather, and textured plastics that mimic organic surfaces such as leather, pebbles, etc.


Automotive textures include a mix of natural materials (like the leather seat, above) and plastic organic textures (like the faux leather dashboard trim, below).
When it comes to organic textures in plastics, consistent texture gives a sense of product quality, while seam lines, smearing, and other flaws can do just the opposite.
The organic textures in this collection were all found in one automotive interior. The data was generated using a GelSight 3D tactile sensor and OmniSurf3D analysis software.
